I usually like to go on my walks in the evening time and that's kind of the start of my nighttime routine, but I thought I'd switch it up today. I was feeling a little adventurous and walked to Duncan. I got a medium caramel iced coffee with oat milk and I always get extra ice when I go to Duncan. I think it just makes it a little more crisp, and I love that word crisp. It makes me so excited for fall. I am a slut for spooky season. The contrast of the colors, with the leaves changing and falling, soft sweaters and warm apple cider it really is the best time of the year. I think a big part of why fall just feels so cozy and warm is because everything starts to slow down. We start to slow down, there's more presence. So as we start to slow down, let's utilize this time by going within, becoming aware of the ways that we create our own problems. And what do I mean by we create our own problems? We think and we worry entirely too much. We attach ourselves to a past that doesn't exist anymore, and a future that doesn't exist yet may never exist at all.

Tiona Thompson:

For my girlies who like to read, I have a recommendation, and that is the Power of Now by Eckhart Toll. This book was so transformative for me. It breaks down the ways that we attach to our analytical minds, to our egos, in a way that's digestible but still absolutely mind-blowing. At the same time, this book provided me with so much clarity on the nature of my own existence and I just have to share it with you guys. I've said it once and I'll say it again we are not our thoughts, we are not our minds, and our minds are little tricksters.

Tiona Thompson:

Our mind wants us no, needs us to believe that we are inseparable from it, from our egos. Because when you stop feeding into the lies, you stop feeding the ego, you starve the ego. The ego dies and the ego doesn't want to die. The ego will do everything in its power to protect itself. It will convince you that you are the ego, but you are not. You are the consciousness, you are a soul. When the body dies and we leave this plane of existence, you will remain free of the ego, but while we are here, we live in illusion, illusion of separation and of individuality.

Tiona Thompson:

So how does this attachment affect us on a day-to-day basis? Well, how often do you sit and think about the past, or not even just thinking about it? How much do you hold yourself back because of the past? I am 99.9% sure that it is more than you even realize. Oh, I'm not going to pursue this relationship because the last time I trusted someone with my heart, I got hurt or I'm not going to put myself out there because things have never worked out for me in the past.

Tiona Thompson:

Why would they now? These are the things that our mind tells us to keep us where we are, to keep us stuck Because, although we may be stuck, we are safe, comfortable, unexposed. These are lies. Stop believing the lies, stop obsessing over what could happen and focus on what is happening now. We only truly exist right now. Now is all we have. You can escape your mind, but first you have to detach from it, because when you hold on to the hurt from the past, you are bringing that hurt into the present moment. And what is it that dictates the future? The now? So if you identify with burden now, the burden will continue to manifest into the future.

Tiona Thompson:

Guilt, fear, non-forgiveness, all of negativity lives in your attachment to psychological time and your denial of the present moment. We have all heard it before Time is a man-made, a mind-made structure. Our minds create problems so that they can be solved, so that we can save ourselves, but the thing we need saved from is the mind itself. Do without thinking, and by this I mean put your attention into the action of now and not in the results. Be fully aware. This takes away the stress and adds joy. You are just being In this being. You find peace and a connectedness to everything around you. Now, because your attention isn't on your thoughts, suddenly you notice the breeze on your face, the sounds of the birds. You feel the love that surrounds you. It's always been accessible to you. You were just preoccupied, trapped in your silly little brain, too unconscious to realize that you are the breeze, the sounds, the love. We are all fragments of God experiencing ourselves, and God is not a being. God is just being Oneness, consciousness. There is no reason to worry about the unknown, because the unknown, the darkness, the nothingness is where everything is created from and we are the Creator. We manifest desires. We create by taking inspired action in the now, not by worrying if we aren't good enough, and not by worrying about the outcome. We create through action. So focus on the labor itself, not the fruits of the labor, and when we become present we realize there are no problems. There are no problems right now. There may be circumstances, but through action we have the power to change those circumstances.

Tiona Thompson:

When your brain won't shut the hell up, take your attention away from it. Turn your attention to the body. Focus your attention on the being. What does it feel like to just exist inside of your body, to just be Really right now? Sit still and think about it. What does it feel like to be inside of your body, to be your body and try to keep this inner bodily awareness, as within, so without the peace of being will start to manifest into peace in your physical reality. If there are no worries within, there are no worries outside of you. You become a vessel for observation rather than attachment.

Tiona Thompson:

Presence is timeless, so time slows down. We enjoy ourselves. Aging also slows down. Immunity is built subconsciously as well as in your physical body, at a cellular level. Bad bitches live a slow life. Slow because our minds are not running wild.

Tiona Thompson:

We give love because we are full of love. We are love. It doesn't come from an external source. It is inside of you. It is you. Become aware of this and accept it. Accept it and this becomes truth. Love becomes truth. Connectedness, wholeness, oneness becomes truth, and the amazing thing about becoming aware and becoming present is that it just emanates from you. It engulfs those close to you. Your presence, your detachment from negativity awakens in them their ability to be present and to be of love. Now, all of a sudden, your relationships and your interactions have completely changed. The energy you receive has shifted to match the frequency of your consciousness. This is what shapes your future, not the doubt, not the self-limiting beliefs. Let them go. And when you raise the frequency of your own being, you raise the frequency of others, you raise the frequency of the Earth, of the Universe. Accept where you are and what you are, which is love.

Tiona Thompson:

Start small, start practicing your presence before bed, lay in stillness and just be, just be until you fall asleep. Now, it is hard. At first you may only be able to stay truly conscious, truly aware, for maybe a few minutes, but with practice you can hold that awareness for longer and longer and eventually you don't need the stillness to be aware. You can be aware while doing activities, while taking inspired action. This is the quantum leap, this is the shift. So start practicing tonight, practice until you fall asleep.
